Plan Submittal and Review Process

All projects subject to main water line extensions will be subject to review and design requirements of Consolidated Utility District.

All water line extension projects will be designed by Consolidated Utility District’s consultant James C. Hailey & Co.

  1. Preliminary plans for projects shall be submitted for approval of service to the proposed site.
  2. All plans submitted to CUD will be reviewed at CUD’s Planning Review Committee which meets every Tuesday morning.  Your meter application and any submitted plans will be reviewed during this time.  Submit before Tuesday to ensure review, otherwise, all forms/plans submitted will be reviewed the next week.
  3. A digital copy of plans shall be submitted to subdivisions@cudrc.com for the engineering design to be completed once preliminary plans have been approved by local planning commissions. Engineering fees will need to be paid at this time.
  4. Once engineering design is completed and reviewed by CUD, plans will be stamped for construction and submitted to T.D.E.C.
  5. Engineered plans must be stamped for construction and a Notice to Proceed issued to the contractor by CUD prior to start of any water line construction. (Public Sewer lines must be installed prior to construction of water lines.)
  6. All new water lines must be inspected by CUD and installed in accordance with standard specifications for CUD prior to acceptance.
  7. Once the contractor has met the installation specifications and satisfied the CUD inspector and the contractor has disinfected all new water lines constructed, CUD will pull bacteria samples for testing.
  8. Once bacteria testing has been completed and approved a cost of construction will need to be issued to CUD prior to acceptance.
  9. Once all of the steps listed above have been completed CUD will release acceptance of water lines for sale of taps. The installation contractor is responsible for any leaks or maintenance issues for a period of one (1) year from date of acceptance.
