As a courtesy, Consolidated Utility District welcomes non-profit governmental related organizations to hold community functions in our Fox Auditorium located on the second floor of our main office building at 709 New Salem Hwy., Murfreesboro, TN.

The Fox Auditorium is equipped with ceiling projectors and screens as well as a sound system with microphones. Our facility also features an adjacent industrial kitchen. For a small rental fee and with a seating capacity of up to 200, the Fox Auditorium is ideal for your next non-profit governmental related event! Availability is limited so be sure to reserve early.

Resolution in Honor of

John Russell Fox, Sr.
Board Commissioner
May 11, 1941 to June 21, 2004

WHEREAS, John Russell Fox, Sr. was a life long resident of Rutherford County, with documented ancestry in excess of two hundred years in the State of Tennessee and had received a certificate as a member of the First Families of Tennessee; had been a farmer and small business owner, charter member of the Rutherford County Rescue Squad, former Director of Civil Defense of Rutherford County, founder of Christiana Volunteer Fire Department, Past President of Rutherford County Blacksmith Association in Cannonsburgh, past member of Cannonsburgh Town Council, Chairman of Murfreesboro Electrical License Board, Deacon and member of Short Creek Baptist Church in Christiana, Tennessee, past patron of Murfreesboro 3693 Order of the Eastern Star, 32nd degree Mason and member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Fox was a respected and devoted member of the Board of Commissioners of Consolidated Utility District since April 24, 1990.

NOW, Therefore, Be it resolved by the members of the Board of Commissioners of Consolidated Utility District of Rutherford County, Tennessee meeting in regular session as follows:

  • We honor the life, legacy and contributions of John Russell Fox, Sr. to the many worthwhile endeavors he devoted himself during his years of service.
  • We appreciated his cheerful demeanor, his quiet spirit, his humble friendship and his approach to life and living that serves as an inspiration to all who know him.
  • We express our deepest gratitude and thanksgiving for the years of service by Mr. Fox on the Board of Consolidated Utility District as he served with honor, dedication and distinction which shall not be forgotten by those who have had the privilege of serving with him on the Board of Consolidated Utility District and the many officers and employees of Consolidated Utility District who benefit from his service.

On behalf of the members, employees and Commissioners we express our deepest appreciation and hereby dedicate and name the Consolidated Utility District Auditorium

Adopted by Unanimous Consent of the Board of Consolidated Utility District of Rutherford County, Tennessee this 22nd day of June, 2004 and resolve that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Board of Commissioners of Consolidated Utility District of Rutherford County, Tennessee.
